Pickelfarmer
My sister in law came up last week from New Mexico with her two daughters. The temps were kind of cool last week and not very good for hitting the lake but her oldest (6) wanted a ride on the boat. So we packed everybody up and headed down to a lake just down the road. At first we just cruised around the lake and the Girls loved it. The youngest loved hitting the waves and turning. After a while the oldest one asked if we could fish for a little bit. I have fished this lake alot with my two little guys and it always seems like you can pick up a small slimer any time you want. I said sure so we threw out a line and did a little trolling. I told her that she more than likely would catch a fish. It didn't take long and bam.. Fish on. She got so excited she almost let go of the rod. After a little help and a lot of giggling and laughing she finally got it to the boat. It was about a 2 pound Northern. We got pics and sent the fish on his way. The rest of the days talk was about the fish and spending the day on the lake. I just figured I would share with you one the best days of fishing I have ever had. And I didn't even wet a line...... Pickelfarmer
And she will always remember you for what you did..Mom, that is the Uncle who taught me how to fish!! yeah it was really cool to see her catch a fish. Although I might have made my brother a little mad because she told him on the phone that night, "Dad, Uncle took me fishing this morning and I cought a fish right away. How come when we go fishing I never get anything and we fish all day"? I told her that there isn't as many fish in NM as in MN. Plus I might have told her that Uncle is a little better fisherman then her Dad..
