runnin raps during full moon / cold front?

Recommended Posts

It is two days after full moon and was thinking about running raps on a local lake that has been good for that kind of action.

With the clouds and the goofy weather substantially hurt our action tonight? We are going to run some live bait till dark as well.

Thoughts?

thanks

We had quite good luck on Osakis trolling Raps in 8 1/2 foot of water on Saturday evening from 5-8. It was very cloudy and cold but the walleyes were snapping up the Raps.

We have been doing well all season on cranks. Last Friday night yeilded 4 good keepers and a few slots as well as a few small ones in a couple hours trolling, Saturday and Sunday were not as good with the big cold front, rain and wind though. We also got a few smallmouth, silver pike and to many white bass but it was still fun.

I really like the full moon for the visibility; for example when Long lining to get the depth you often need the heavy gear and rod holders'. The moon illuminates the rod tip nicely; also if your cranks are in the weeds it is easy to see the cranks spinning on the surface.
