machohorn
Most of the pics I have seen are of rivers, flat bains like Milacs. How would this unit work on a lake that is full of structure> The kind where the front of the boat is in 12 feet yet the back end is in 40 feet of water? I fish Ottertail , Clearwater plus many other lakes that the bottom changes drasticly every boat length. Thanks
eyebjim
It's actually better with more structure. At least the images are much more entertaining. I have been on clearwater lake with it and it worked very well. With basin lakes it is usually kinda boring. One thing, Rocky humps/points are easy to see the rocks but it makes it much more difficult to see fish when there are so many rocks. We actually marked fish and then caught a fish in 3 FOW on clearwater on opener.
reddog
26 fow looking onto rock bar in 15. Leaving boatramp, directly into 24 fow. Note the ablility to follow the breakline to flat bottom transition on the right side.

eyebjim
I live in delano and usually fish wright county lakes. If you want to connect to check out the SI that would be OK. Some of the best images you can get will come from rivers cause of all the debris like trees etc. Especially when the river is high. But cool images are not needed. Finding fish and fishy structure is. Machohorn, You can email me at [email protected] Its eyebjm not eyebjim like on FM. I don't regularly view that email so if I don't reply post a SI topic or add to this one asking me to check the email and I will likely see it sooner. I have the 797 c2si unit. If you are more interested in the 997 you may want to see if someone with a 997 would take you for a spin. Have fun in canada.

Then prehaps see if we/you can catch that lil fishy we see lol
