Jackpine Rob
Our first brood of wood ducks appeared this week. Five little fuzzballs with mama woodie. There is another hen nesting in the other box, but she got a little later start. Still waiting on the mallards.....Its fun to sit up on the porch, with the smoke billowing out of the grill, the Twinks on the radio, and the new crop of waterfowl cruising the pond. BoxMN
I have seen a ton of mallard fuzz balls on Birch Lake in WBL, and saw a TON of goose fuzz balls today - actually getting quite large now, I would call them "fuzz-soft-balls" even Fun to watch them grow. I have a pair of hooded mergansers nesting on our lake up north this year, I haven't seen the chicks yet, but hope to watch them grow along with the loon fuzz balls when they appear
