st. croix falls

Has anyone ever fished the st. croix falls area for catfish. I am moving up to Lindstrom from the metro area within a week or two and i was wondering if anyone knows if there are cats up that way? I have never fished it before so any info would be greatly appreaciated. Anywhere located around highway 8 would be awesome. Man am i going to miss the mississippi river.

i've caught them incidentally while fishing for bass. any deeper run or pool is pretty good for channels, i imagine there are some decent flatheads as well

Above the Falls(dam) I have only caught channels I dont believe there Is much for flatheads,couple buddies of mine were camping for the weekend and caught a couple nice channels !

If you are going to go for flatheads you will want to be South of the Falls.I'm no cat pro(yet !)butt i think once you explore the Croix a little bit From Taylors Falls south to the high bridge you will find many good cat'n spots.

Take It easy,the croix is not as deep As the Mississippi and the sand bars and flats change yearly....
