shnelson
I'm going to be heading up over memorial weekend, we have a couple campsites reserved within the park but I'm feeling adventureous and want to camp near the river. Has anyone camped this area before, and do you have to pay/reserve the spots or are they first come first serve?
Powerstroke
A quick check of the DNR page shows there are 10 canoe-in sites on the St. Croix and Kettle rivers that are aprt of the state park. They are accessible by water only and are first come-first served. Here is a MAP . The water sites are scattered about and there are a couple different canoe landings. A phone call to the ranger might indicate which ones get the most use or which ones might be better. I'd be interested to hear how it goes. I've never been to this state park, but I like the idea of the canoe in sites.
