Tom Linderholm
Made the first trip on open water yesterday after doing a little landing scouting on Thursday, squeezed the boat out of port wing and ran around a little bit as there was quite a flow of ice chunks floating that made keeping a straight line nearly impossible. Managed to fish for 4 hour's with sporadic hits thru the day. All together we went 5 for 6 with a coho, king, 2 steelies and a brown. All fish were on the small side and caught on blues/blacks/purple colored stickbaits. Water temps were between 34 and 37 and the water was unbelievably clear. Don't be afraid to drag your planer lines on shore once in a while. Here's a little of what we were contending with yesterday.
