Subsurface Temperature reader

Anyone own one of these devices? Used for finding subsurface water temps and the thermocline. Are they valuable to your fishing success?

Was thinking about getting one to find the suspended bruisers. I see Cabelas has one for like 80 bucks, any other places where I can find one?

A quality sonar should be able to find the thermocline for you however if you need a thermometer, you should be able to get one for just a few bucks.

Rapala used to sell one for about $3.00, I still have mine and it reads like a dream down to 50ft of water. That's how much line I have on it.

You don't need anything very sophistcated. Just a regular thermometer on a line, will work just fine. I wouldn't go $80 bucks for that, no way.
