Snow goose feather flyer flipping decoy sillosock

4 posts in this topic

Anybody heard of these? Do they work? I have seen them for the first time today. Being a huge snow goose hunter, I am always looking for something new that will work. If anyone has any info, that would be great.

They sure look nice. Their are not alot of reviews out on them yet but I bet they would work.I wonder myself how they work on windless days. We are looking at adding a few to our spread.

I might have to give them a try myself. Maybe after the spring hunt, we might get some more reviews on them. We have found that a quality spread has been doing better than mass numbers. We even wash our decoys have way through our week long hunts. These look good, but the jury is still out I guess.

Your not alone we wash ours also. Looks kind of funny when you got 500 plus windsocks air drying in the yd it definately gets some looks from people driveing by. I totally agree on a quality spread. I have been hunting them since they opened a spring season and I know for sure they are getting smarter every yr. Realisim is definately a key to killing birds. Unless conditons are right the good old days of throwing out junk and killing birds may be gone.

    • Different Strokes for different folks. Ewwww
    • Team Lodge Extreme is a brand that makes what you're looking for and has for a few years now. I think Big Bite also builds one with that functionality and purpose in mind as well. Both are very nice houses.
    • I wanted to share my recent find, I was searching the items on a local online auction and saw what I thought was a Pimple (or Pimpl) spear (it was only labeled as a stainless spear). I stopped by the auction house to take better pictures and compare it to others and I was convinced it was a Pimple, I even had a spear collector I know agree that it was a Pimple. I started bidding on it at the very end of the auction and unfortunately someone else also knew what it was since I found myself in an intense bidding war with one other bidder. We battled back and forth for what seemed like forever, it almost got a little personal and just when i told myself I'd only place one more bid the other person stopped bidding. I was the winner of the spear at $340 (I've heard of other selling for $600 on auction)   When I went to pick up the spear I was given a dumbfounded look and asked "why did you spend so much on this spear???" I explained the history of the spear and the spear maker who was born in the 1860's or 70's depending on where you read the history and immigrated here from Austria.  While I was explaining this a group of people gathered around to listen to the story and they had no clue what they had and were amazed the small spear was that old and that desirable.    It will be a family heirloom that will be passed down in my family for generations to come. Just to even hold this piece of history is awesome.
