WALLEYEDUDE2001
I am in the process of figuring out how to install the heater in my house & have seen a couple of different ways to install the units. At the ice fishing show they had the units "built-in" (manufact ?) with cabinets around while others (ice castle) had a wall hung unit. I saw a picture on a site selling houses that also was built-in. I guess my question is can you build around the unit so close ? Also, most houses I see have the heater opposite the door but I seem to remember a post about locating it on the door side ?
dairyman
check your owners manual it will list the installation specs as far as distances go
WALLEYEDUDE2001
The only references I can find are 1" sides & 12" from top next to "combustible construciton". Some of the installations appear to have zero clearance at sides or top to wood construciton.
hawkeye43
I think some people are making cabinets around them to make them harder to steal or to pry off the wall. I have been checking on how close I could build the cabinet and not have problems. It surprizing how cool the top of the heater stays, Its all about personal choises. I like the idea and will be useing that in my next house.
