What Is The Best Heater to Buy???

S.D. Ice Angular

Question

I have a downstairs bedroom in my house that I only use when company stays over. I would like to get an additional heat source to make it a nice and toasty room for my guests. I have been looking at Electric and the Kerosene versions. I am pretty sure I want to go electric and preferably a baseboard style. I would like the biggest/best a guy can get and still power it off of the normal 115 VAC wall outlet.

Any ideas and advice would be appreciated.

A 1500 watt electric heater will produce 5280 btus of heat. Period. It doesn't make any difference if you pay $15.00 for it or buy one of those fancy $200-300 dollar versions that are so profitable the company can afford to take out a full page newspaper ad to sell them. I have one of those electric oil filled radiator types and like it because it doesn't get so hot I worry about it coming in contact with something and starting a fire. Just my opinion.
