Macum VX1, LX1 question

The current LX1 is the hand held depth locator but Marcum made a flasher a few years back that was the equivolent of the VX1 and called it an LX1, right? I found the LX1 flasher for sale and was thinking of getting it for a Christmas present and was wondering how old it is.

They still make the LX-1.. without a serial number, its impossible to tell how old it is. Great unit for the money!
