Here is a Deer tag question

Here is my Deer Tag question.

Firearms Season

If I hunt in a management area,

I can havest a buck or antlerless deer with regular license, then get another antlerless deer with a bonus tag. Am I done?

Now, filling my regular firearms license and bonus tag

for that management area that I hunted in the firearms season.

Can I buy a Muzzleloader License? Can I purchase a bonus tag?

Or is my hunting over for the year? hunting same area as firearms season.(management Area)

If I bow hunted and harvested a buck in a intensive

harvest area then go gun hunting in a management area, can I

use my regular firearms license to tag a anterless only and

buy a bonus license, like maybe getting 2 deer during firearms

season. having got a buck, making this 3 deer per year.

Can these scenerios play out as long as you only

tag no more then 5 deer, also one of them can be a buck and only one that is .

This is what I interpet from Rule book

Or am missing something?

Just want to be clear on the rules.

Like to hear your imput.

Also Good luck to all of you hunting and be safe!

Thanks

They addressed this on the radio last night. You can only tag the number/combination of deer authorized for your area. IE.. if your area allows a buck and a doe, then that is all you can take regardless of the combinations of seasons you hunt. It sounds to me like you've got it correct though, you can mix and match you just cant go over the alloted deer harvest number for your area.

While this post should not be viewed as a substitute for the regulations book, you pretty much have it right. If you killed both your deer during the gun season in a managed area, you're done in managed areas because you reached the bag limit (2).

The 2 major rules are:

1) One buck ... period

2) Areas are managed by bag limits. You can mix and match seasons and license types (regular, bonus) in any way you want so long as you don't exceed the bag limits (or the statewide bag limit of 5) -

a) lottery - one per year total

B) managed - 2 per year (not 2 per managed it's 2 total)

c) intensive - up to 5

Remember, the early antlerless bag doesn't count towards your 5.

Good luck!

yes, in a management area you are done, you can move to intesive harvest area for 3 more anterless deer.

Now, filling my regular firearms license and bonus tag

for that management area that I hunted in the firearms season.

Can I buy a Muzzleloader License? Can I purchase a bonus tag?

You are done in a management area, you would need to move to an intensive harvest area to muzzleload.

If I bow hunted and harvested a buck in a intensive

harvest area then go gun hunting in a management area, can I

use my regular firearms license to tag a anterless only and

buy a bonus license, like maybe getting 2 deer during firearms

season. having got a buck, making this 3 deer per year.

This is correct and you could go back and take 2 more anterless deer in an intensive harvest area for a total of 5.

    • i believe it is their first year, one of the guys used to work for Ice Castle at the Pine River plant.  They have videos on you tube.  I have seen them on Facebook and you tube, the house looks nice, but it is not something I would buy.
    • There sure isn't any rhyme or reason to the costs. I think you stand a lot better chance for a good price in the summer though when you can take your house to a job site and they don't have set up and clean up costs involved.
    • If you use the vinyl kind it coils horribly and if you use the braided types your trebles get stuck in it. I'm not smart enough to do it but I wish some company could figure it out.
    • So you are saying we all should have voted for a corrupt Clinton over the other candidates? Or should we go back and forth and point out the failings of Democratic states and go round and round? I voted for Johnson, both parties are useless to me but if you want to put on a blindfold and cry about the other party you go right ahead. It's obvious you can't look at any issue without those tinted political glasses on, I'm sure JV would be happy to fire up a tax based argument based on political leanings.
    • Ahhh. Another shiatty weekend for putzbutton.   "We talked about sore winners in the earlier segment. We really didn’t lose. This was sort of a successful failure,” radio host Mark Thompson said on MSNBC Saturday.   "A successful failure"   See !!   There is a silver lining for you libbers...
    • Sounds reasonable.  We were just under that at a guy up north west of the metro and we had a 16 footer.  Called about 10-15 places and that was the low side of average.
    • the guy that smoked it is a pro so I would think he did all the precautions needed. I will see him again this summer and ask him.
    • Didn't catch the game last night but Parise hasn't looked like himself for sure. With some of the younger guys stepping up and Staal it hasn't hurt us nearly as bad as past years but it would sure be nice to see him get healthy. You kind of knew his contract was going to hurt at some point, hopefully it doesn't start this soon.
