Minnow shortage

Is it just me or is there a minnow shortage right now? They have been out of suckers at several of my local bait shops. Is this because minnows can no longer be imported from WI?

I think a lot of suckers sold in MN are caught or raised in state. I have noticed some bait shops have a very poor selection of suckers especially large ones. I have been in other stores that have plenty of big and little ones. I have been collecting my own bait the last few years, and it has been tougher at times than in the past.

Seems that the bait is heavily regulated now. People are scared of this VHS and rightfully so.
