hummingbird depth finder

I have a hummingbird Wide Eye depth finder I have had for years. Now after about an hour or so, it starts beeping evry second or two and a line from top to bottom goes across the screen. Needless to say I get nothing but lines across the screen. Also the automatic depth number on the bottom of the screen changes also by several feet at a time. Has ano-one else had problems like this, or any ideas as to what the problem mabye.

I'm no expert on this, but check your transducer to see that it hasn't been bumped out of being level. If not, it could just be that your unit is getting bad.
