Lunker
Visited family on Table Rock over the week, fished every morning. Most of our fishing done within a few miles of shell knob either direction. Water temps in the low 80s, temps in the high 80s, off and on rain showers. Water rising. Took a bit to get on fish but did okay. Fishing shallow, wood, and in the coves was pretty poor, small bass and that's about it.Did better fishing the main lake and finding schools of shad. Cranking yielded fish but mostly small bass with the occasional better fish. Also caught 3 Walleye on cranks, 2 were in the 18-20" range, and some hefty white bass. My brother in law hooked into a big gar with a crank. I also caught a small flathead on a worm. Our best day was the last when we targeted points with schools of shad. Some on cranks, but the best luck came fishing jigging spoons among and over the shad. This was the first time I fished like this but it was effective.
