Matt Johnson
Those of you who know me know that I spend a lot of time targeting panfish year-round. They are challenging and fun to catch--when you match the gear appropriately. I often times think about what makes a sunfish grow the way it does? Here is an article I put together regarding this topic on a few ideas...How Does a Sunfish Weigh - CLICK HEREAnyone else have any other thoughts on this topic? What about anglers from different regions who are viewing this... care to chime in? ozzie, monstermoose78 and Thorne Bros

mn86
this is just one theory and correct me if im wrong. i think the population of small predator fish in a body of water makes a difference on how well the gills will flourish because i have noticed small walleye will eat the same forage as gills so if a lake is over populated with young predators under 15 16 inches then those fish will be taking food off the table for gills.
