Jiffy Artic Blast Model 75

I just purchased a new Jiffy Artic Blast Model 75 with a 8 inch blade. The question I have is that it makes a rather loud clunking sound when it is idling. It sounds like it is coming from the gear box. Is this sound normal or should I take it back to Fleet Farm and get a different one?

You can call Fleet but most likely they will tell you to take it to a service center to have warrenty work done. Most any place that is a Tecumseh service center will work on them. Sounds like you should get it looked at.

Most augers do that, especially when they are new. Take it out and drill a buch of holes to break it in.

Have been using my new auger and the clunking sound is going away. I think it must have just needed to be broke in.
