nwa1819
Hey everyone I have never really fished for walleyes much but amd starting to try a little harder. The types of places I am fishing for them is around a weed bed at about 10-15 feet. Also on some small bars and humps(sunken islands I suppose). What type of walleye fishing would you suggest? Sorry if this is not a lot of information if you need more please let me know! Thanks.
Map Guy
I would first talk to some of the locals who fish the lake a lot to see what is working for them or ask the folks at the local bait shop. They'll usually get you started in the right direction. Don't ask for specific spots, just general info like type of bait and techniques.Sounds like you're hitting the right spots (weedlines, humps, drop offs). Next, its just trying to figue out what the fish want. Try slowly trolling a jig or spinner with a leech, minnow or nightcrawler. Maybe try troll a crankbait. Try casting a jig or crankbait. Time on the water with lots of trial and error works for me.
