DonBo Posted August 12, 2009 Share Posted August 12, 2009 Register today for biking and geocaching event in Itasca State ParkLimited number of openings available for Aug. 22-23 eventSpend the first day riding the trails as you learn about the park’shistorical and natural areas. The ride will include sixteen miles ofmoderate biking. Lodge overnight in Itasca State Park Club House. Spendthe next day learning to use a GPS unit and geocaching with the parknaturalist. Evening spent relaxing in the Club House or on an hike through thewoods. Lodging and instruction is included. Meals are on your own atDouglas Lodge or the Headwaters Restaurant. Participants must be atleast age 18. Fee is $65. Register by calling Julie at 218-327-4414.The event is being offered by the DNR's Becoming an Outdoors WomanProgram. Redlantern Posted August 13, 2009 Share Posted August 13, 2009 As nerdy as Geocaching sounds, it's really a lot of fun. Just started doing this with my daughter this summer and we've had a great time. We went to the Wild River State Park for a how to demonstration. Very helpful.
