Members Only Fluid Forum View   08/08/2017

Fluid forum view allows members only to get right to the meat of this community; the topics. You can toggle between your preferred forum view just below to the left on the main forum entrance. You will see three icons. Try them out and see what you prefer.   Fluid view allows you, if you are a signed up member, to see the newest topic posts in either all forums (select none or all) or in just your favorite forums (select the ones you want to see when you come to Fishing Minnesota). It keeps and in real time with respect to Topic posts and lets YOU SELECT YOUR FAVORITE FORUMS. It can make things fun and easy. This is especially true for less experienced visitors raised on social media. If you, as a members want more specific topics, you can even select a single forum to view. Let us take a look at fluid view in action. We will then break it down and explain how it works in more detail.   The video shows the topic list and the forum filter box. As you can see, it is easy to change the topic list by changing the selected forums. This view replaces the traditional list of categories and forums.   Of course, members only can change the view to better suit your way of browsing.   You will notice a “grid” option. We have moved the grid forum theme setting into the main forum settings. This makes it an option for members only to choose. This screenshot also shows the removal of the forum breadcrumb in fluid view mode. Fluid view remembers your last forum selection so you don’t lose your place when you go back to the listing. The benefit of this feature is easy to see. It removes a potential barrier of entry for members only. It puts the spotlight on topics themselves, and not the hierarchical forum structure. You as a member will enjoy viewing many forums at once and switching between them without leaving the page. We hope that fluid view, the new functionality is an asset that you enjoy .

Waste:

I'm interested. My army of 12 to 15 soldiers is waiting for your command. They are still alive and well in my bathtub.

I emailed you. Thanks much.

now thats a real cat man useing the bathtub for a live well. Thanks for the idea

I agree! That way you don't have the wife on your [PoorWordUsage] for leaving the toilet seat up either. She probably wont set foot in the bathroom with a tub full of bullies!!!

Going tonight as well with no daughter.....just me.

I am a little low on bait, so you gotta bring your own or enough for me too :^)

email to wastewaterguru at hotmail if interested.

I probably have enough bait so don't let that deter anyone from coming out. Just would prefer you bring the bait to keep me from running my supplies down. Suckers, bullies, etc.

How much bait do you have now? I could perhaps loan you some if you'd like. Or perhaps lead you to a spot you could catch a few bullies before you go.

I think I have enough for tonight.

updacreek is jumping in with me out of Jordan at 6:30.

Probably have room for one more but now it would definately require the bringing of your own bait or stopping and getting some suckers or something......or you could just come along to learn a little.

I am counting on some of his luck rubbing off on me...........

I am busy tonight and have a long day a head of me tomorrow at work. I wish I could! Perhaps, another time if the offer is still on the table???

Were you out last night? I heard a river pro upstream last night and it sounded like they stopped by some dead heads around the first bend from the Jordan access...

Thanks

Nick

I was in the Chaska/Shakopee area last night. I think that was Capt. Fireman that was out in Jordan last night.

Yup! That was CF running around up there! No pigs, but they got a few.

I was gonna leave the "luck" at home tonight................

Good to hear someone was catching fish. I had a couple good tugs and was stripped a few times. Assuming they were gar. But it was a bad night for me. A bullie stung me. My reel got all messed up and I had to strip it down in the dark and mess with the drags clutch disks. and came up empty handed frown

Beats sitting at home and not catching anything though!

Ya the old lady and I were out at the launch yesterday and there was the silver bullet and river pro trailer. I must have just missed you I saw your stream just disappearing around the first bend. Hopefully we can give it another shot out on the river one of these day, when the weather is better.

That's pretty normal it usually only hurts for a short period of time and when I get pricked it usually draws a tiny bit of blood. One time though I had one that was about to die so I was going to throw it into the woods and I wound up to chuck it and all that force pushed the bone into my finger and it hurt for a couple hours. Felt like it went all the way to the bone.

Gotta love those Bullheads...they are tough!

Sometimes I just reach in the bucket and grab them. Other times I use a minnow net and wait for them to stop moving and lip them like a bass

Bullheads are not too bad. Small channels are the worst. I have seen then do damage that could have used stitches. I had one get me good monday during the Sheriffs derby that hung by its pectoral from my hand.

We got 5 turtles, 3 gar, 1 nice channel, and one flathead.

Fog was nasty at 11:30 when we decided to head back to Jordan. That was a long ride.

45 minutes to get back.

On a sidenote, the carver rapids are now impassable for anything with a prop.

    • Yes!  There is no question the eclipse will affect fishing! The eclipse will draw peoples attention away from fishing and the casual angler will be all wound up about watching the event. They will not be paying attention to anything else and surely not to fishing. The result will be far fewer anglers on the stream and YOU will have more room to fish and less competition. THAT is how the eclipse will affect fishing.
    • Lots of bears being seen around Princeton not on baits just roaming around.
    • Because Sleeper's always have had good produce...and obviously, I just went there. I went to school with them, know how they do their produce. They been around a long time. Wouldn't have  4-5 people  standing there buying if it was lousy. I had to wait the other day. Word gets around fast on small stands.Your statement applies to just about anything...sometimes a restaurant has a good meal, next time it's mediocre. You'd still go there, right? You're going to have some years the corn is better than others, you can't change the weather. This happens to be a good year for the sweetcorn, both places told me.  What would be different at Seneca? It still comes out of a field there, too. Who knows how fresh it is? I'd go with a pickup truck just pulling in, with the corn still cool and damp, before I'd grab some from a pile at Seneca. That's the only time I go, early am, when it's fresh.  OK, so do four ears at about 6 mns then....ya can handle that, right? All I intended was to give ya a tip where to grab some good corn...
    • I cook more than two at a time.   And how can you recommend someplace you haven't been to in a decade?   Like I said, I have gotten good corn there and I have gotten mediocre corn there.   Might be fresh picked, but sometimes I think maybe the field was past its prime when they fresh picked it.   Ever try the corn from Seneca?   They have a little office across 3rd Ave from the plant where they sell corn sometimes.
    • Because it was about a decade ago I was on that goofy end of town. I knew it. Now yer gonna  waste time fooling around with that souse-o-matic on that poor corn, when two ears in the 'wave, in a covered glass dish with some water for around 3 minutes comes out perfectly delicious.
    • Let us know by first ice - just saying.  But he is great to work with so don't get me wrong.
    • 3 smallies in 30 min yesterday.
    • That is the truck that I always buy from, they park at the detailing place that used to be a car wash.  Why were you talking about Super America? They haven't been there for a decade. But either one would be a pretty long drive at the moment. Might have to try sous vide on some...when I get there.
