Heading Back Up

Recommended Posts

Had a great trip over the opener flying out of Rainy Lake. 8 guys and a lot of fish caught. Walleyes had not spawned yet and we found a lot of 24-27" that were similar to footballs and a few larger. The range of depth was 5' to 27' and everywhere in between. We did not catch a lot of pike but we don't really pursue them too hard.

Weather was cold and rainy most of the time but when you are consistently catching nice fish no one cares what the weather is like. Ended up working extremely hard to find some eaters but had a great shore lunch on the only day it was clear.

Our outfitter has a great setup, the cabins can comfortably hold 8 people and all of the wet gear you can think of. Even with 8 guys and wet gear there is plenty of room to dry everything out and make the bell for the evening fishing.

Heading back up to the same lake on Saturday with family, can't wait...Been told by a few that a lot of the lakes NE of Nipigon have been getting steady rain since we left, could make for another great trip!

Rusty Myers out of Fort Frances. They have great boats and motors and the cabins are some of the best I have seen. The fishing has been great for us each year regardless of the lake we go to.
