tyrone01
I have a Lund 1660 Classic and have noticed that sometimes when going accross the lake the gas gauge will peg full and stay there for awhile. Anyone ever had this problem or know what could cause this?
heat checker
Guessing the fuel sensor is located on the back of tank, and with the front of boat higher in the air, causes a false reading. Mine does the same thing.
marine_man
Your sender could be getting sticky and keeping it at the full mark when the fuel sloshes around.I presume it returns to normal after that? Or, what causes it to return to normal?marine_man
tyrone01
is the sender easy to replace? i have noticed it even when trolling slow it may peg full and with out lifting the bow or anything the gauge will just go back to normal.
marine_man
Yes.. it's pretty easy... the hardest part is pulling the floor up (4-8 floor screws in the middle of your boat) and pulling it out, finding a replacement and putting everything back together. There's not too much to it.marine_man
