Tow Hitch

The hitch fits in the receiver of the jeep with a little play, so when I'm trailering the boat she clunks and bangs a bit going down the road. Does anyone make an aftermarket shim or cushion or sleeve that can help tighten or quiet this down? Thanks.

Duct Tape worked great for mine. That stuff fixes everything.

My Jeep did the same thing, funny. I never did anything to fix it though.

By chance, does your boat trailer have a surge brake?

Propster - I had the same thing happening when I bought my last boat. I found the tongue of the trailer was too light. Adjusted the tongue weight and she stopped clunking and banging.

I bought the locking pin assembly and it came with an oversize sleeve...stop mine from clunking.
