Hoarse bark

I have a 8 month yellow lab that has developed a hoarse bark for the past couple of weeks. He was at a kennel a few weeks ago so I don't know if this is a symptom of kennel cough or not (he has be vaccinated for this). Does this sound like something that I should be calling the vet on? Thanks for the info.

It could be as simple as stressed vocal cords (they do like to bark at Kennels) or as serious as a respiratory infection. If it's been going on more than a couple days I'd take him in to rule out an illness.

Thanks Ken. I was leaning that way but I didn't want to be too much of a hypocondriac about it.

Ive never heard a horse bark. What does it sound like?

You usually only hear a horse bark walking to your deer stand in darkness. Dog seems to be doing fine, still a little rough but much improved.
