Oxygen

Guest

Question

No, not that ridiculous womens TV network!
I want to take my fishing journal to the next level this season by having some more pertinent data in it. Does any one know if I could find a relatively low cost device that would measure the dissolved oxygen ppm in the lake or is this a pipe dream?

Yeah, the lowest priced unit I have found runs about $200. It is too bad none of the fishing electronics companies haven't got into this market, I really think it would be a valuable tool for us if the price could be brought down!

Chiro,
$200 is a good deal. I have found them to be over $400.
Another concern is the cord length on the probe is relatively short. In order to effectively calculate concentration levels we need to measure at the depths that fish are holding. Surface levels will give a much higher ppm or mg/L reading.
