Right now we are only about a 1/2" of rain behind for the spring so I would say that its not required, but if you think your tree could use a little drink, it won't harm it.

Set your hose out near the base of the tree and let it run slowly. You want to water to absorb rather than run-off.

It supposed to rain saturday, so you may not need to water.
