Getting a new pup!!!!!

Hi everyone. Well, next week my new buddy moves in. He's a German shorthair. I've raised puppies before, but never a hunting dog. I went out and got the book "The art of raising puppies." by the Monks of New Skeet. I must say from reading it it sure sounds like these fellas know what they are doing and I'll be following their advice. I know there isn't a book or set of instructions that can possibly cover everything I need to know. I also realize this will not be a field grand master champion. What I don't know is how/when to train a pointer. Anyone have some advice on a book or set of books I can pick up???? Any help would sure be appreciated. Thanks

I've only read two so far, but by far the better would be Gun Dog by Richard Wolters. It's actually geared more towards pointer training than you think....it's old material, but very useful.
