amsoil mix for 2.5hp merc?

I have a 2003-2004 2.5hp mercury 2 stroke and I was wondering what type of amsoil I should be using and what gas/oil ratio?

For a pre-mix outboard you have 2 choices:

1. AMSOIL Saber Outboard and you can mix it as lean as 100-1. (Note: this is a different product than the Saber Professional you use in your augers and other air-cooled 2-stroke engines.)

2. AMSOIL HP Injector can be used as a pre-mix at 50-1.

I want to go with the Amsoil Saber Outboard. I understand you can mix a 100:1. But I still want to go with the reccomended oil/gas ratio for my motor correct?

You can safely use the Saber Outboard at 100-1 in any pre-mix outboard. The AMSOIL guarantee gives you 'safe lubrication guarantee.' Some choose to run it richer. If you don't feel comfortable at the lean 100-1, start with your engine recommended ratio (most are 50-1). After a few tanks check your spark plug. If it is dry/fluffy you are fine, if it is damp or wet you probably have too much oil and lean it off some. Go leaner in steps as you feel comfortable and safe.
