weekend weather

Looks like 15-25 mph S & SE winds all weekend with 75-80 degree highs around here, YUCK! Might have to think about water. I have stands that work for those winds, but the crops & scouting tell me most of those are not going to be my prime ones early season.

Anybody else not fond of those wind directions for your bow spots?

(By the way if you complain about it on here today you're already covered if you don't score this weekend.) I wouldn't be surprised at all if I still get a deer this weekend, but definitely am going to have to wait on some of my prime evening spots for different conditions.

I have one stand where it should be good but the other couple will be out of the question. Wish it would be cooler and a little less wind but it will just be nice to be out!

I agree, I don't think I'll probably sit as long though. I need to mow some shooting lanes in some new popple growth after logging near a couple of gun stands. I may get down earlier so I can work on that now & spend more time on stand when the weather's more hunting friendly.

Yea, the weather is going to suck! But on the bright side, it is still hunting. The stand I am going to sit in has a couple of different options for deer to come in by. A couple of different bedding areas. One will be bad with a SE wind. The best wind would be a NW wind. I don't mind windy conditions too much if I can see a little ways. Have connected a couple of times on windy days. You can get away with a little more movement. PS if you shoot one, make sure it makes it to the freezer or meat locker that night....otherwise by morning it might look like a horror movie

To dang windy this weekend fellas. 29+ mph gusts.......just to windy.
Hopefully this coming weekend looks to be a bit cooler (40's) gettin' out to the stand with lows in the high 60's. A 20 degree difference! And best part of it....NO WIND (or very little of it)
