what should i expect to get for mileage with a chevy 1500hd 4x4 2004

I have an 04 silverado 1500hd with 4:10 gears. It only gets about 12 mpg. If you drive anything over 60mph it goes down to 8 mpg. IMO you would be way better off with a regular half ton with the 5.3. I know I will never own another truck with a 6.0 in it.

The 6.0 gets 12mpg loaded or unloaded and it is a really tough motor. If you tow I would buy one, if you dont get a 5.3

I have had really good luck with mine and I like it, when gas is $2 gal
