Old Center Fire Bullet

Recommended Posts

For any of you knowledgable shooters out there....was there ever a .32 caliber rifle made?

I got a band aid box full of bullets from my ma today and there was some .22, .32, and .38 calibers in there. There was one odd looking bullet and it said " .32-20 on the primer side of the casing, whats it from?

The .32-20 Winchester caliber was mainly used in the Model 1892 lever action Winchester but I believe there were also some single shot rifles chambered for it. It was a 32 caliber bullet and an equivalant powder charge to 20 grains of black powder. Basicly, a scaled up .25-20. There was also a 32-40 Winchester, often used as a target rifle, but could be used for a marginal deer hunting rifle. Later, there came the 32 Winchester Special, a 32 version of the .30WCF or more popularly known as the 30-30. They came out in the 1894 Winchester.
Marlin and Ballard and a few others also had a variety of 32 cal. cartridges , but they haven't been loaded for sale in years.
