Sand in water lines in home

Well, my sandpoint well finally bit the bullet. I managed to suck up quite a bit of sand into the well pump and some into my house I imagine. What I'm thinking is that I need to go to the opposite end of my home and hook up a pump and hose to the faucet and pump water backwards out of my house. I plan on pumping the water out of a five gallon bucket because I don't have any other water source there.

I will hook up a hose where the water normally comes of the well pump and into the house. From there, I'll route the water outside.

Does this sound like the correct procedure or does anybody out there have a better suggestion?

Thanks,

MJ
