Upper Eau Claire has nice walleyes, but not numbers. I understand very early morning and evening are the best. It is a very clear lake. As to exactly where to go, I cannot pinpoint it, but just out from the swimming area by the bridge has some nice bars. Get a top map and ask the local sport shop.

I have a cabin on the Eau Claire Chain and fish Upper regulary. As mentioned before this is a very clear lake ove 20ft visability so fishing low light periods or at night is the key. I like to pull rapalas after dark on the breaklines in 10 to15 ft of water. If you have no luck at that depth dont hesitate to cast into the shallows as most of the lake is sugar sand with some rocks mixed in. If you have to fish the daytime look for fish cribs in 12 to 18 ft of water with your electronics and cast jigs to them or bobber fish suckers or leeches. You won't catch tons of walleye but they are very nice sized. Also remember it has a high population of giant smallmouths as well and they like cribs. Plus trolling at night you may hook up with a musky as they feed after dark. Get the hot spots map at the bait shop as it is a good start.

Robinson has Muskies listed but I have never caught or seen one although I have not fished the lake with musky gear. I have caught musky in Bony, Middle Eau Claire and Upper Eau Claire. The largest was 53 inch but the average would be around 40 inch. IF you are fishing muskys they like to suspend in these lakes so don't rule out trolling in the middle of nowhere if they aren't in the shallows. They are good jerk bait and trolling lakes.
