Chubby Darter French Grunt fishing Florida Keys

This is probably a odd post but I visited my brother in the lower Keys, Florida last week and I went out reef fishing. A lot of the fish stealing bait on the reefs and grass areas are French Grunts, very colorful, 10-12 inch, rather good fighters on light tackle. Any way I brought a Chubby Darter with me and I caught Grunts verticle jigging one after another. Got tired of extracting the rear treble from their mouths as they hammered it. Used the #6 luminescent orange.

I use the Chubby Darter often in many open water summer applications. They can also be cast and trolled.
