Shell Lake Muskies?

Recommended Posts

I'm going to be up on Shell Lake this weekend and I've heard of some good size Muskies seen and caught. I'm from the Metro area in MN, but i do know some of the waters in the area, more so in Burnnett Co. How's the bite been on Yellow and Lake 26 this year, but i'm really wanting to know about Shell. So like i said any help/info would be great. I know how we muskie guys like to keep our info to ourselves, but i'm going out on a limb today.

Thanks

Arman - Shell does have some large muskies. To simplify things I'd suggest fishing the south bay area. Not to say there aren't muskies in the larger basin area of the lake, but you better be good at open water trolling to fish there. I personally like the shore line near the airport (landing strip), would also try around the reed beds. Don't know what the secret lure is, but I'd stick to natural color patterns due to the water clarity. If you get sick of the south bay, try Rolf's or Morley's point or Scout Island. Best of luck to ya.
