Lac Vieux Desert

Recommended Posts

I'm getting together with my family (parents, sisters, brothers-in-law and a dozen or more rugrats) for a week at Thunder Bay Lodge. I've heard the fishing there is generally good, some more specific info would be great. We generally fish to have some to eat, panfish, maybe some walleyes, etc. Any and all advice is welcome. Leaving the weekend after the 4th of July.

PaulB,
You should have a good time there. Right in front of the resort and around the Islands should be good for walleyes. Go straight across to the bay north or to the west by the camp ground for perch.
I live in Forest Co. and fish the lake allot.
P.S. very good lake for muskies

Have fun, and be safe on the water!!

Thanks for the info. BTW, do we need to worry that half the shore is MI, not WI? Are there any special regs for the lake? And don't tell my son about the muskies - he's always sure he's going to catch a huge one, flinging around my dad's 40-year old bucktail spinners and stuff.

follow the regulations for the lic. you hold. This is a boundry water, and rules are shared by both states. No trolling on the lake, other then that the bag limits are posted at the boat ramps. Let your son throw that 40 y/o buck tail there are big musky in the lake and who knows, this might be the time another musky nut is born. It was on this lake I caught my 1st musky, and the rest is history!!!!
