Chippewa Bite

Recommended Posts

Sorry for the late post but any info would be appreciated.

Heading up to the Chip for a week of fun. We leave 6/10. Staying up by Muskie bay area and would like to hear how the bite is going. We intend to fish where ever the best action is so location is not an issue. Our targets are ( in this order) Walleye, Crappie/bluegill/perch, Pike, Maybe a ski or two if we get lucky (never hooked into anything over 25in and that was by accident), and a few CPR bass if they get hungry.

Any info again is greatly appreciated.

Good luck,

Bob

Hugo thanks I saw their posts and that is who we were staying with.

As for results, Caught the tail end of the bluegill spawn found some dandy 8-10 gills all males just coming off beds. Walleye bite was so so for me but some others did have success. We did end up with 1 25" 5 lb eye but the others we caught were 10 to 13" average. I caught all of ours in 12-18FOW off breaks and bogs Jigs tipped with leaches and minnows worked as well as slip bobber and plain hooks. Color most hit was black but did try to throw most everything we had at them.

Managed a few bass 14.5" smallie was the big girl in this group. And a few (3) pike. No skis but those chasing them had mixed luck.

For my first time on the flowage it was very interesting. And when I go back I will have a better idea of what to look for.

Good luck,

Bob
