New Boat, Newer Electronics?

Well I'm proud to say that today for the first time in 24 years my dad and mom went and bought themselves a new boat. Not an '09, but they did get an '08 LUND 1750 Fisherman with a 115 Merc on it. Huge upgrade from their 24 year old boat!

So now my dad wants the newest of the new electronics put on it. It currently has the Lowrance 522, but he got a brochure on the new Lowrance HDS units. He wants to replace the 522 with the HDS 8.

Anyone heard of, used, or tested the HDS units at all? They look sweet in the brochure!

Thanks.

Good for them and the new boat! 24 years is a long time to wait grin

I saw the HDS units at a dealer demo but have not seen them in use yet. They look great and a lot of guys are really looking forward to getting them on their boats.

The delivery dates I have keep changing but are currently listed as late Feb to early March.

We're adding them to the HSOforum now, those pages should be up soon. We have some info and images about HDS HERE
