anyone on here made their own little boat? i have always been interested in making my own canoe or pirogue for the river and wondering if anyone has made one, any tips or advice is welcome as am likely to build one by summer. pics are great too!

I haven't....yet. I really like the Lutra Flyfisher that Dave Nichols designed. He has designed some nice looking small boats for specifically for fishing. They are lapstrake built from marine grade plywood.

wow those look so sweet, the strip ones are so nice lookin. yea i sometime this spring am probably gunna build a pirogue, off of a HSOforum called uncle johns. it would be a 10-15 hour project as you use marine plywood and go that route instead of the strips. i just want to start out with an easy project and fairly cheap. How long does it usually take ya guys building them that way, a couple months?
