Hi, I'm new to the forums. I want to ask if anyone would be willing to share any ideas about good bass lakes across the border. I live in St Paul and am willing to drive. I have fished Balsam, Bone, & Round with good success and am willing to share spots/techniques. I know there are a lot of small pothole lakes around there and I am looking for a chance at a trophy as opposed to numbers of fish. Feel free to email me if you dont want to post. I am not looking for anyones "secret spot"- just point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance.

The big lakes should be your best bet for big fish, though smaller under-fished lakes will give them up too. Try Siren area -- Big Wood, Mudhen, Clam, Trade. As for smaller lakes, pick one with a boat launch and give em a try.

If you're looking for a trophy, I might be able to help. I have a relative who lives on a 50 acre lake with no public access. I can launch my boat fine in their backyard (18.5 ft Ranger). These fish have never even seen a senko until last summer. There are about 5-6 houses on the lake and it only sees pressure for crappies/gills as far as I can tell. I would consider a trip swap sometime if that interests you. I have fished Bone a few times, but wouldn't mind a learning a few new things. If you're intereted let me know and I can give you an email address or phone number.

Brad
