I'am going to be fishing the brule with a buddy from Ashland on 5-6 of april does any one have any current water conditions or know how the bite is going? It's been awhile since i have fished the brule any current info would be much appretiated.

I was just up there last weekend. The snow is coming down fast and the river was muddy. some rain and good temps should have all the snow gone in the next few days. Word is the numbers for opener was down. I caught nothing but had a good time.

Is anyone getting anything on the Brule? What are the current conditions? I check this other HSOforum dedicated to fishing the Brule and I think its full of a bunch of liars. That or I suck at steelheading...

we fished the brule on the 5 and 6 we caught 6 fish the biggest was 24 the rest were 20 or under i did lose one real nice fish after about a 2 min battle took me into a downed tree because i slipped oh well it was fun. The water was still alittle muddy and there were people every where even on a mon and tues it really was [PoorWordUsage]ing me off you can't walk around a bend on that river with out some one there oh well thats why i like lakes best. the water temp was about 42 and we were using fresh spawn sacks as soon as the water clears and the crowds leave it should be good. We saw no one else even land a fish while we were there and we fished about 7-8 hrs each day so maybe we were doing something wrong to it sure is a beutiful river try it in the fall
