Lake Thompson/ Madison Area

Anyone been out on the ice on Lake Thompson or some of the other lakes closer to Madison? Any reports would be great. I need to make it over for a weekend of ice fishing with my brother in law.

I havent been on Madison at all this year but Thompson has been pretty sketchy. Its been pretty hard to get around on the lake with all the snow. Ice is pretty good but there are some thinner spots underneath some of the snow drifts. I think if you stick the well traveled areas and follow some one elses tracks you will be ok. Which is kind of ironic because I seem to only catch fish when I avoid the crowds.
