ChuckN
I'm curious if anyone knows the draw from a block heater in a 7.3L F250 diesel. Reason I ask is I may need a generator for a trip in extreme cold and I don't want the old beast frozen on the lake. I would love to bring a generator just in case, but unsure what size generator I'd need to get the job done. Thanks

Macgyver55
Chuck, we have many in our trucks that are 1000 watt but I've run them with my Honda 1000 and it works fine. It is working hard but it handles it ok.

ChuckN
Thanks Mac. I know my aftermarket car block heater is 500 watts, but my diesel one sounds 10X the power as it's loud and does a great job. I'll be putting a generator to the test soon, just wanted some advice before I possibly harm one.
