1/3/09 West O report

Wasn't a fast bite by any means but somewhat steady considering the weather. Had to problem pike that shut down our bit for a couple hours untill we finaly got them on the ice. Caught gills untill 7pm tonight, waxies and a horazontal jig was the ticket. Pike both came on minnows deadsticked on spoons 1 6 pounder the other 8 pounds. Kept 17 gills a released about that many.

How come you always let him catch the big fish? Your pike look much bigger than mine I didn't have a scale but I would guess mine at close to 6lbs. I was out in the city of people on Spirit fishing perch.

It was a pretty good 10 minute battle on 2lb line.

He's getting even with me since I got the biggest muskies of 08 LOL.

Will I be able to drag my perm out on Emerson next weekend with a pickup Esox or is it still to early to tell? I don't feel like dragging my wheeler over there.

No problem with the truck, they are driving way out on the reef and have been for a week now.
