It might be worth it, but probly not, I believe they are made more for biggame cartriges and wouldn't be as accurate for the drop on a varmit gun.

If its for mostly a calling gun i would stick with a lower power. Say a 2-7 or 3-9. I shoot leopold 4-12's for mine, but i shoot bolts, and hunt mostly open areas.

What AR are you getting??? Not all AR's are good varmit rigs for any distance at all. My dads is awful. 100yd max on coyotes, fun to lay down the ground fire, but not accurate at all.

I have .223 cal Rock River Predator Pursuit. full floating 20" stainless heavy barrel,match trigger. It's supposed to be good for 3/4" moa. we'll see I haven't Shot it yet...waiting on a scope mount and haven't made up my mind which scope I want. I was thinking of the 4x16 so I could maybe use it for pdogs as well
