I need help against the Lakers (no not Kobe and co.)

Been ice fishing for a little over a year now and so far have only targeted panfish, walleye and northerns. Long story short, I have been invited to fish lakers through the ice near the boundary waters and I have no clue. I would appreciate any suggestions you have on rod/reel combos, lures etc. I am psyched to go but totally lost as to what I need to bring.

Ever caught a torpedo? Ever hooked into a freight train? Use at least a 3 foot fiberglass rod. Baitcasters are preferred but a good fisherman could land anything on anything. Use white a lot. Glow white is a little better. Use large spoons with minnow heads. Slow 8 foot raises with slow fall. Little tick? Set the hook hard and everything moves but the rod tip. And the fight is on! Be patient.....this wil change your fishing focus completely. Maybe your life. Good luck, Siberian
