Spotlight ?

I am looking for advice for a spotlight for coyote hunting and tracking. Am wondering about LED have you ever tried these do they shine as far as a regular spot light any other thoughts?

if i were you i wuold use a red lens spot light. it doesn't scare the coyote's away cause of the light and thier eyes show up really easy.

LED doesn't cast a very direct light for a distance. Very bright at short range, but get something more traditional (old school).

If your going to need more than 15 minutes of light (which I'm sure you will), don't settle for the $10 Cabela's rechargable either. You'll need something w/ a large battery and about at 1-20 million candlewatt.

Definately use a red lens as well.

When searching for eyes, shine the main beam above the area being scanned and use just the edge of the light to illuminate the eyes. Once you see reflection, don't move the beam on and off the eyes repeatedly, as it will spook them. When they get in range, get the gun ready and drop the main beam on them and whammo...
