Fall on the Brule

Scifisher, I think this year will be a some what normal run. I was up there the last week of sept. and the mouth of the river was easily waist deep, maybe more. When its that deep alot of fish move up into the river.

The most likly reason your spinners have cooled off is the water temp. has gone down. When that happens lures like a flat fish start to work better because they are so much slower.

Spawn works great when ever the fish are in the river and works great reguardless of the temp. Fresh spawn is much better then anything you can buy in the stores.

One thing you may want to think about is limiting the number of anglers that come with. 3 anglers is the max. I'll fish with. Otherwise your groups catch rate falls off the charts.

How does the float rig work? What does it look like? I imagine that people are using spawn, nightcrawlers, maggots, or yarn underneath. Can you cover lots of water with it? I'd like to try this on friday.
