The Root River Fishing Times

Hi all;

I am going to be making a trip to the Root the second weekend of April. I imagine if the rains come, that will fire things up, yet the lack of snow is going to slow things down. What think? To anyone who has ever been there, is that too late? How long do they stay in the river? I imagine the fall run is bigger then the spring? Whats hot? Is it spawn and bobbers, drifting pink trout worms, nightcrawlers, spinners or whatever? This is my first trip to this river. I need a little help.
